Play4film's point of view:
Many consider this to be Blake Edwards’ masterpiece. Edwards is, for many, a genius of the American comedy. Based on a well known book by Truman Capote, which the film subsequently helped re-launch, it is the story of the romantic relationship between two characters who are both outcasts in their own ways. It boasts splendid photography, wonderful music: Henry Mancini won the Oscar for the song ‘Moon River’, and a close irreplaceable cast. It is, above all, Audrey Hepburn’s film: she is radiant and effective in a difficult and ambiguous role, an icon of elegance and refinement. A film to be seen and seen again.
