In a futuristic but famil...
In a futuristic but familiar world, a high-tech engineer whose memory has been partially erased must use a group of unrelated objects, including a wire, a ticket stub and a bus token as clues to discover the truth about his previous identity, and collect a paycheck he had been awaiting. Play4film's point of view:
John Woo directs Ben Affleck who is more expressive than usual, in a film based on a novel by the author of “Blade Runner”, Phillip K. Dick. As often happens in Dick’s literature the heart of the matter resides in the character’s mind, in a denied past and in a relationship with a more or less adverse reality. Affleck must come to terms with the resetting of his memories, and understand what has happened and do so quickly. And here Woo’s expertise comes at play, the action movie ace replaced Brett Ratner in the direction: brilliant framing, fast-paced editing, breathtaking set pieces. Extremely modern and exciting.
