Plot synopsis:	Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wah... Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg), a former Marine Corps sniper who leaves the military after a mission goes bad. After he is reluctantly pressed back into service, Swagger is double-crossed again. With two bullets in him and the subject of a nationwide manhunt, Swagger begins his revenge, which will take down the most powerful people in the country.

Play4film's point of view: At first glance “Shooter” seems an Eighties action film with a lead character who had withdrawn from action to a secluded life yet who re-enters the game, but on further viewing this film reveals itself as much more. Other than the top-notch action sequences shot by the expert Antoine Fuqua, this film has much to say on the power of institutions and politics. Mark Wahlberg plays a character who is subjected to these very powers. It is much better than many similar exercises in direction which end up subduing the original idea under layers of action. Wahlberg is an extremely versatile actor if if he seems to have only one facial expression. This adrenaline-fueled film features a perfect supporting cast.
